This shall be assessed at least five days before the course commencement date of the course.

Should The Australian Logistics Academy cancel any course, participants are entitled to a full refund or transfer of funds to a future course.

Refund

No refund is payable in the event of withdrawal or transfer from a course within 3 days of course commencement.

Deferment or Reschedule

A student may reschedule or defer within the first week of course commencement without penalty of payment. If a student wishes to reschedule or defer after this period, each application will be taken on a case by case basis, however The Australian Logistics Academy maintains that no refunds will be given after this period.

Our dates of closure are from Monday 22nd December, 2008 to Friday 9th January, 2009.

We will be returning to normal operatin hours on Monday 12th January, 2009.

Please note that this may affect some assessment periods, which will commence upon our resumption of  normal operating hours. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Online assessment emails are sent out during the first day of the assessment period and you have two weeks to log on and complete the assessment tasks.

Tasks may or may not be time, so be prepared to put aside some continual time for the task. This information will be provided in the email sent to you.

If you have not received an email by day 2 of the assessment period, please send an email to info@aust-logistics.com, including your name, student number, and the subject, and we have a response to you within 6 working hours.

All materials and resources that come with the products purchased at The Australian Logistics Academy are all electronic based documents on the Learning Management System. There are no paper based documents with these purchases. After purchase you will receive an email confirming your payment.

Our trimester commencement dates are scheduled, and in the week up to the commencement date of your course, you will receive a username and password via email. On the commencement date you will either receive an enrolment key, or be able to log on and access your modules immediately, where you can commence doing the reading and training exercises, and move through the units associated with your course through the Learning Management System.

The documents are created in a format that you can download to your computer and read, therefore not requiring you to be logged on to the internet all the time. To ensure that you are prepared for online distance education, please refer to our page on Studying Online.

This allows:

• Quiz questions to be sent daily
• Emails to be sent to everyone using a single email address (eg. yourclass@googlegroups.com)
• Discussion of concepts and questions to occur with input from lecturers and staff

Registration to the Google Groups requires two things to happen:

1. If you don’t have one already, you need to create a Google Account.
   This is not an email address (unless you want a new one), and is explained on the Google Help pages at the following link:
   http://groups.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=27441
2. The you need to subscribe to the Group.
   You can do this one of two ways -

• via the web (Go to The Learning Room, go into your subject and complete the Google Groups process there), or
• via email (visit the Google Groups help section)

Please note that all Google Groups are moderated – your memberships are approved manually to avoid spammers gaining access to the Group. Please allow 1-2 working days for this to be approved (however it usually occurs the same day, unless you request access over the weekend).

The ratio of assessment activities varies from subject to subject.

To enrol in a class:

1. Log on to The Learning Room
2. You should see a screen like the following.
   
3. Enter one or two words from the course title in the search box, then click on ‘Search Courses’. (or you can click on ‘All Courses’ but it will be a longer list to scroll through)
4. You will then get a search results screen like the one below. Click on the Subject that you are enrolling for (check that you have the right one – if you are not sure, click on the teacher name and send a message to them)
   
5. You will be prompted to enter an enrolment key. Please cut and paste the one you received in your email. Please note that they enrolment key is case sensitive.
   Click on ‘enrol me in this course’ once you have entered in the enrolment key.
6. You will then see the home page of the subject you are now enrolled in, where you will be able to add yourself to the Google Group and start receiving quiz questions daily!
   
7. Now if you return to the main page you will see the course you have just enrolled in!
   

You may still wish to convert your files to xls files.

If you are not sure how to do this, please refer to the instructions below.

1. Click on the Office icon on the top left hand corner of your screen
2. Click on ‘Save As’
3. Click on Excel 97-2003 Workbook
4. Enter in your file name
